Rishikesh - The Capital of Yoga

Rishikesh (India), is known as the yoga capital of the world. It is one of the holiest cities in India, situated right beside the sacred Ganga river and burrowed right under the mystical Himalayas, truly making it a magical place.

People from all over the world visit Rishikesh to know and learn more about yoga. It is filled with hundreds of temples and thousands of sages, making it a perfect place to learn yoga from its roots.

Rishikesh is known as Tapo Bhumi, meaning ‘a place for yoga and meditation for gods'. With surroundings of emerald jungles, hidden waterfalls, a path leading right into the lap of Himalayas, it is a place filled with spiritual energy.

The internationally- acclaimed yoga center  “Chaurasi Kutia Ashram” of Maharishi Mahesh yogi where famous celebrities such as Mia Farrow, Mike Jagger, Mike lee and of course the most famous "The Beatles" (in February 1986) visited is also situated in Rishikesh.

The Beatles had the most amazing, spiritual awakening journey in Rishikesh. They ended up writing more than 40 songs out of which 18 were part of “The White album”, one of the most famous albums of the band. They had the most profound journey, which resulted in their best song writing. They were truly enlightened and gained knowledge of their purpose.

One of the important reasons for Rishikesh being yoga capital is the remoteness of the location, you have to completely cut off the world, and begin your own journey. A journey of discovering yourselves, your existence, your meaning of life.
