On this 2nd day of Navaratri, we implore on goddess Brahmacharini, another avatar of Goddess Parvati. In this incarnation of Brahmacharini, Parvati becomes the unmarried self, a yogini.
She is a representation of tranquility and moksha or emancipation. In this incarnation, she is seen walking barefoot holding pot (kamandala) and a rosary (japmala), symbolizing calm and bliss.
Today’s color is marked as blue, for peace and bliss. Unmarried woman, who is a devotee of Lord Shiva, celebrates today’s day and keeps fasts for a husband like Lord Shiva. Brahmacharini herself followed a strict dieting regiment in order to pay tribute to Lord Shiva, where she didn’t have water or food.
If you fast today, practice pranayama to keep calm during fasting and it will help you detoxify faster and better. We should present goddess Brahmacharini with fresh fruits this day.
