yoga in the times of covid, how to follow yoga during covid

If we look at the past two years, our lives have become extremely tough due to Corona. Our lives have gone through multiple changes and adjustments, fortunately, yoga is a practice which can be our constant. It doesn’t necessarily require stepping out of the house to practice. It can be done anywhere, even if it is in the comfort of your own home and in pajamas.

Yoga is recommended to perform on an empty stomach. In fact, practicing yoga regularly on an empty stomach is great for immunity resilience, which is something we all need. At least 20 minutes of yoga should be performed daily-twice a day by every age group be it children, youth, adults or elderly. Once in the early morning right after waking up and then in the evening 2 hours after lunch.

Apart from yoga exercises and postures one should also do yoga Nidra, Bhastrika, Sutraneti and Jalaneti kriya twice a week for 20-30 minutes.

Keep in mind that the place you do yoga ( at home) should be clean, it can have plants, crystals for a better environment and even some scented candles can help you Zen up the place. Improving the environment can help you do yoga daily without getting bored or distracted.

After doing yoga in the morning, say a prayer and meditate using a mantra such as ‘om’ which can help you start your day better and then you can have a light breakfast for an active day.
