"After giving birth to our son Flynn, I realized how important our female body and all its functions are to our health, our planet, and our children. During my career as a professional athlete, I wasn't worried about whether and how I was menstruating.
I needed to finish my training and if I wasn't able to accomplish that due to menstrual discomfort, I would take a couple of painkillers and go anyway without realizing the harm I was doing to my body and that I was actually depleting it and pushing myself away from my goals. My body ended up so depleted that it crashed during my last race and left me on the ground with a broken jaw, elbow, and ego.
I decided that it was time to change and start living by what I preached. I changed my diet and lifestyle to the Ayurvedic way of living.
To be honest, I’ve never felt so fit. I now have tons of energy and am so much more in tune with my source connection and purpose, which makes me truly happy. I now recommend it to all people who want to start their self-healing journey. But one thing I definitely learnt along the way was to always be kind to yourself, take it one step at a time, don’t expect to feel perfect overnight. Lasting health takes time. And don’t be afraid to ask for a helping hand.
One of my personal motivations to spread this work is that I can't stand so many women and especially young women unnecessarily struggling with pain, emotional problems, and discomfort, sometimes for up to 2 weeks a month.
I started Power Up On Plants because I wish peace and serenity for all women on this planet. Our self-healing abilities are so strong, and I can't wait for the moment when all of us are aware of our capabilities.
I have been working as a holistic therapist for a couple of years now, mostly with women, and this has made me aware of the hectic world we live in. That is why after being in the Netherlands for most of my life, we (My partner, son, and I) made the conscious decision to start traveling. We believe that knowledge is a gift that we should share with other like-minded souls worldwide."
