“Once I started Yoga, it became the purpose of my life.”

I have always been very focused on fitness. Before I started practising yoga myself, I never understood how one can workout at such a slow pace with patience. I always preferred fast paced workouts like Gym and Zumba where I could feel my heart pumping.

In 2020 when the first lockdown was announced, Zumba classes and gyms were inaccessible. I was lost. Without the daily dose of endorphins, my mood became more erratic and I felt frustrated. My anger took a hold over me as I didn't have a platform to vent out.

I started yoga as an alternative form of workout. In the beginning I struggled with the slow pace and keeping my patience. But once I started I did not stop and yoga became the purpose of my life.

My family was very supportive when I decided to take up yoga as a career. I completed my RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) 200hrs, 500hrs and prenatal TTC training course and became a certified yoga teacher.

Looking back I realise that working out helped me to vent out my anger and aggression and that is the reason I preferred fast paced workouts. But as I practice yoga everyday, it gives me so much more. It calms my mind along with my body, and helps me control my anger. Yoga helps me have full control over my physical and mental circumstances, and teaches me to be patient. It has made me more persistent and confident towards achieving my goals. Yoga has made me healthier- physically, mentally and emotionally.

Yoga has become an integral part of my life. I wonder if I can do without it now.

Everyone should do yoga. Yoga itself is a science and it works miraculously for those who do it. Yoga is not just about twisting and turning your body. It is way more subtle and deeper. Though practising yoga gets you immense health benefits, the main purpose and scope of yoga goes way deeper. Yoga is the way to life. Practising yoga aligns our life energies in such a way that bliss is the outcome!"
