"Spiritual practices sustain our sense of peace"— Soulfull Veda (Sunday Stories 2nd Edition)

by Shinjini Guha December 24, 2020

"We started @soulfullveda after spontaneously putting together a day long ‘retreat’ in Chicago and selling it out with such ease and grace. The night before the retreat, the both of us sat and down and started dreaming with no limits.

What if we lived in a world where our community knew how to implement Ayurveda and heal themselves? What if we lived in a world where people had more energy, less stress and felt so confident being their authentic selves? What if we co-created this world? What if this was exactly what they were always meant to do? It was clear that spirit was guiding us to go after this dream, and we did. Soulfull Veda is an Ayurvedic brand that empowers others to become the healers they were always meant to be.

But what led us to Ayurveda in the first place? After being loosely diagnosed with IBS and experiencing amenorrhea for 2 years, I (Angelica) started researching to find my own path to heal. The allopathic route wasn’t giving me the answers I was seeking. I kept hearing the name Ayurveda pop up in different experiences until I read a simple book on Ayurveda.

Chills went up and down my spine and a feeling of complete peace came over me after learning the fundamentals of Ayurveda. I knew this was my calling and enrolled at CCA to become an Ayurvedic Health Counselor. Just from changing my routine and diet, I saw a drastic change in my digestion. During this time, I was also studying to be a Reiki Master and received my cycle again after 3 years of amenorrhea- the day after I received my Reiki ignition.

While I was just starting my own practice as a counselor, one of my favorite yoga students, Rachel Jeffries, popped into my class one night. After talking about Ayurveda in class, Rachel was dying to know more about this fascinating science. At the time, Rachel was experiencing heartburn, insomnia and high stress. After just 6 months of using Ayurveda, Rachel healed all of her imbalances. It was as simple as change in diet and routine.

Although, it had completely shifted her relationship with food, more importantly, it shifted her relationship to Self and Source. The calling to learn and teach Ayurveda kept getting stronger until Rachel could not deny it any longer. She quit her corporate job to start Soulfull Veda with me, and I could not be happier to do the same.

While we will always be on our healing journey, we could not deny the call to Ayurveda and using Source to heal. While diet and lifestyle changes shifted our imbalances greatly, what sustains our sense of peace is our spiritual practices.

It is so inspiring to hear how we all can heal our physical imbalances, but the real inspiration is discovering the truth of who you are. The best advice we can give is to listen to your inner voice when it is speaking. Follow where your intuition tells you to go, and it will lead you to all your desires and dreams."
